The Judith Straughan Harding Endowed Scholarship

The Judith Straughan Harding Endowed Scholarship was established in August 2022 by siblings Dr. John Harding and Ms. Marion Carey Harding to honor their grandmother, Judith Straughan Harding, A Northumberland County educator who taught school to support her six children after becoming a widow in 1905 at the age of 43. Mrs. Harding taught at schools throughout Northumberland, including Shiloh, Old Chapel, Ophelia, and Fairfields among others.
